Impressive sized Watermelon Tourmaline Crystal from Itinga, Brazil.
A very colourful and large doubly terminated Watermelon Tourmaline Crystal from Brazil which has separated naturally in 3 parts.
Each part connects together in a 'lock fit' way and can be displayed as a complete Crystal, or also rather interestingly, as an almost anatomical view with both the antilogous termination with conjoined Crystal and a cross section or 'slice' view.
The surface of the Crystal is highly lustrous and very striated with some secondary growth of smaller Crystals on the surface.
There is a lot of Gem material in the Crystal, it could produce numerous large complete Watermelon Tourmaline Slices and cabochons. The core of the Crystal is an unusual orange color surrounded by Pink and the classic Green rind.
The Specimen weight is 188 Grams or 940 Carats.
The Item size is 106 mm, 45 mm, 28 mm tall.
